Program description from flyer: Amidst COVID-19 and anti-Asian violence, Filipino nurses across the United States survived a dual public health crisis. To celebrate Filipino American History Month, please join Dr. Aprilfaye Manalang and Hans Carlo RIvera as they uplift the stories of Filipino nurses graciously shared with their research team, Healing Heritage. This conversation will humbly offer an approach on how we can collectively heal from often-forgotten scars: the legacy of colonialism in the Philippines, the weaponization of indigenous Filipino cultural values, and the phenomenon that has led many to ask, “Why are there so many Filipino nurses?”
